Yoga Somatics = Intelligent somatic movement

                              for physical and mental agility

All movement is organised sensorily, not intellectually.  As we are always breathing, and gravity is always acting on the body, we can harness these forces  to mobilise and enliven the spine.  Revelations are the release of tension and established holding patterns;  inviting lightness and ease into your movement and life.

  • Irmgard is teaching a stress free yoga suitable for everybody and all ages.

  • Each class highlights the profound connection between the breath, gravity, and spinal elongation.

  • The benefits are a calm mind and an energised, fluid body.

By slowing down, reducing your effort, and becoming aware of your habits and preferences in movement, more of your whole self becomes involved in every action.  Previously unseen possibilities become available.  Your system becomes more efficient and free to move with ease and spontaneity.

For most, a difference can be felt after one session.  Repeated regular attendance deepens your sensitivity and ability to integrate these profound shifts into your everyday movement and life.

My experience taught me to pay attention to myself in different ways

'My greatest realisation after over 30 years in the health and wellness industry is

that the ultimate goal of each and every one of us

is to have control over the quality of our life.

Whether we engage in health and beauty programmes, fitness, yoga, anti-aging treatments, stress reduction or meditation,

this seems to be the core intention for everyone seeking good health.

True wellness is taking back the freedom that our external life has hijacked and getting back into the boss seat of  your own life again.'

Practicing with you, I am sharing in my teachings  insights for vitality, energy and ease in life and movement. It is my intention to encourage movement with an emphasis on personal enquiry.

Awareness and attention is trained to develop 'a felt sense’, impose less, and allow the intelligence of the body to reveal itself.

The intent in my yoga practice changed as I noticed my body and my heart needed a healthier approach towards living in my body and being myself.  I was re-searching integration to heal physical dissociation, emotional unease and mental irritation. Since being a teenager I suffered from exhaustion and visceral body pain.

Previously, being an Anusara and Vinyasa Yoga practitioner and teacher (2007/2008), my need was still urgent to find a freer, more individual, more subtle and more intelligent ways to move. I was in pain and my hyper flexibility has not been improving.  Since 2009, move & sense is besides Flying Yoga (www.flyingyoga.ch  since 2015) the foundation of my teachings.

Irmgard  is a dedicated student and teacher of Somatics.

My teachings are informed by studies in Anatomy-in-motion and the Fascia Network as well as Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais and breath science, aspects of which inspire and infuse my practice and teaching about movement, touch and consciousness. The teachings of Vanda Scaravelli are my first anchor and brought me on a never ending and interesting research of interoception and unwinding the body, mind & heart.

Embodied Movement = Anatomy in Movement

  • an intelligent system that activates your innate capacity to develop a felt sense

  • integration happens as a result of noticing connections and relations about the inner landscape

  • to practice to awaken cells to themselves - something the brain cannot do

  • feeling of homecoming - coming home to your body and yourself

To relax is not to collapse, but to simply

undo tension.

Awakening of the spine

Do not kill the instinct of the body for the glory of the pose. Do not look at your body like a stranger, but adopt a friendly approach towards it. Watch it, listen to it, observe its needs, its requests, and even have fun. To be sensitive is to be alive.
